IBPS CRP RRBs — Office Assistant (Multipurpose) in Regional Rural Banks
The common recruitment exam for Office Assistant (Multipurpose) posts in Regional Rural Banks.
IBPS RRB Clerk is live on Kitabey for institutes — coaching centres can run IBPS RRB Clerk Prelims- and Mains-pattern tests for their students using their own questions or an uploaded PDF. Kitabey's own IBPS RRB Clerk question bank is still being built, so self-serve practice and mock tests for students will open up as it grows.
IBPS RRB Clerk has a Prelims screening test and a Mains exam — there is no interview for Office Assistants. Prelims has only Reasoning and Numerical Ability.
In Mains, candidates take either an English Language or a Hindi Language test, not both. Every question is a single-correct MCQ with five options, and each section has its own minimum score.
| Prelims | Reasoning (40 Q, 25 min), Numerical Ability (40 Q, 20 min) — 80 Q, 80 marks, 45 minutes, separately timed |
| Mains | Reasoning (40 Q, 50 marks, 30 min), Computer Knowledge (40 Q, 20 marks, 15 min), General Awareness (40 Q, 40 marks, 15 min), English Language or Hindi Language (40 Q, 40 marks, 30 min), Numerical Ability (40 Q, 50 marks, 30 min) — 200 Q, 200 marks, 120 minutes |
| Question format | Single-correct MCQs with 5 options |
| Sectional cutoff | Yes — a minimum score in every section, at both stages |
| Medium | English, Hindi and the regional languages listed in the notification |
Marking scheme
Correct
+1 per question in Prelims; Mains marks per question differ by section (1.25 in Reasoning and Numerical Ability, 0.5 in Computer Knowledge, 1 elsewhere)
Incorrect
−¼ of that question's marks for every wrong answer; unanswered questions get 0
Prelims has been separately timed since the 2025 cycle. The Mains notification lists a duration for each test but doesn't say "separately timed" in so many words — older cycles used one 2-hour clock — so confirm on the notification.
Prelims is 25 minutes of reasoning and 20 of numerical ability. Practise each on its own timer and clear both cutoffs.
Mains has an either-or language test. Pick the one you're stronger in and prepare only that.
With no interview, the Mains score decides selection. Full-length Mains mocks matter more than extra Prelims drills late in prep.
A wrong answer costs a quarter of that question's marks. Attempt what you can narrow down; skip pure guesses.
